Dear Members of the Selangor Bar,


The Selangor State Government will be launching the 'Dana Bantuan Guaman Selangor (DBGS)' programme officially on 1st August, 2022 in collaboration with the Selangor Bar Committee. 


At present, initial funds amounting to RM300,000.00 to carry out the Programme has been released to Selangor Bar. We are expecting an annual fund of approximately RM1 million to be disbursed.


The DBGS addresses family law matters and labour law cases for the poor, the under-privileged and the needy. The creation of DBGS is only the first step to ensure that every citizen of Selangor state has access to legal representation.


However, the enduring success of this initiative relies on the participation of volunteer lawyers from Selangor Bar.


In furtherance of the above, the Selangor Bar Committee encourages members of the Selangor Bar to assist in ensuring the success of the Programme by volunteering their services for this good cause.
