Dear Members and Pupils of the Selangor Bar,


The Selangor Bar Committee wishes to inform that one of our members, Ms. Vennila Muniandy, a single mother of three children and the sole breadwinner of her family, has been reported missing following the recent flooding incident in Nepal.


Search and rescue efforts are ongoing, and there is currently no confirmed information regarding her whereabouts. The Selangor Bar Committee has been in contact with her family and the Malaysian Embassy in Kathmandu while closely monitoring the situation as well as any further developments.


During this extremely difficult and uncertain time, Ms. Vennila’s three children are facing considerable hardship and uncertainty as they await news of their mother’s safe return. 


Her eldest son, aged 26, is presently working as an IT Technician, while her second and third children, aged 18 and 21 respectively, are presently studying in college.


Ms. Vennila’s sister and next of kin, Ms. Vasanthi, aged 51, is presently assisting the family during this difficult period.


We are further informed that, in Ms. Vennila's absence, the family is currently unable to access the funds in her bank account, placing them in a difficult financial position in meeting the children’s immediate needs, living expenses, and educational commitments.


In light of these circumstances, the Selangor Bar Committee humbly appeals to members and pupils to extend their support through financial contributions to assist them during this extremely challenging period.


Any contribution, regardless of amount, would be greatly appreciated and would go a long way towards assisting the family while they continue to await further news regarding Ms. Vennila.
